North Platte Nebraska Sports
Hundreds of boxers descended on downtown Nebraska on July 1 to compete in the first ever North Platte County boxing championships, approved by the United States, in their own front gardens.
The event is sponsored in part by the North Platte County Chamber of Commerce, the Nebraska Department of Public Health and Human Services and will attract boxers from across the country, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany, Japan and Australia.
Visiting the North Platte can also involve a road trip, but for those who prefer to stay on land, hiking is a popular activity. There are campsites for primitive and camper vans, and fishing facilities include moorings for disabled people. The North Platte is conveniently located at the intersection of I-80 and 83 and is easily accessible by car. Depending on where you are from and if you are looking for an alternative to the motorways, we recommend Sandhill Scenic Drive. If you don't mind flying alone or with a crew or exploring some cool places, you can also take the kids on a road trip to one of the many parks in the area, such as Great Plains National Park or Nebraska State Park.
Originally called Scout Rest Ranch, the site includes a museum and historic buildings, including a school building and a general store. The museum in the historic building invites children to scavenger hunts and there are picnic tables. There is a children's playground currently being upgraded by local Kiwanis, and there are sports facilities such as the football and basketball fields of North Platte High School and a football field. If you want to do more sports, there is an athletics facility at the University of Nebraska - Omaha, which includes an indoor athletics facility as well as an outdoor track, basketball court, volleyball court and volleyball court.
Students are encouraged to try out in interschool teams and to join the clubs and activities available to them. The municipality of Nordplatte supports the program very much, and the sports program strives to make the school and the municipality proud.

The best time to visit is when the weather is nice and everything is nice in spring, when everything is green. While winter temperatures can dip into the teens, summer temperatures in La Quintas are rising to highs in the 90s and the best weather in North Platte County.

If you take the train, you can explore the city of La Quintas and its many museums, restaurants and hotels. You can visit the villas, watch movies or enjoy a walk on the beach or river overlooking the San Juan River and the Pacific Ocean. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children 2 to 12 years of age, children under 24 months of age are free. Visit the houses and buildings for $5 per person or $10 per adult for a family of three or more. Participation in school sports activities is considered an extension and independent of the regular after-school program. Many interschool teams have the ability to meet the guidelines set out here, but not all. We have developed guidelines that set the rules and guidelines for the use of the Prairie Arts Center as the home of North Platte High School athletics.
This is an important part of our education system and as a participant it is and will continue to be an important part of our life in America. That's our great tradition and it was and still is an important part of the success of athletics at North Platte High School.
